The Gloom Of Occult Oppression

Some Christians seek counseling
because they are struggling with things like depression, anger, and
hopelessness. Sometimes the cause of their struggle is rooted in
occultic oppression. Either through their own activities and
relationships, or through their family line, a door for the enemy was
opened.
Isaiah described the repercussions in the lives of those who have looked
to the kingdom of darkness for knowledge or power. Isaiah 8:19-22 (NASV) says:
And when they say to you, "Consult the mediums and the spiritists who
whisper and mutter," should not a people consult their God? Should they
consult the dead on behalf of the living? To the law and to the
testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because
they have no dawn. And they will pass through the land hard-pressed and
famished, and it will turn out that when they are hungry, they will be
enraged and curse their king and their God as they face upward. They
will look to the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of
anguish; and they will be driven away into darkness.
In these days, so many forms of occult experience are available. These
activities and beliefs promise enlightenment, control, and peace. But as
the Bible says, they deliver trouble and the gloom of anguish. The
psychic influences stir up rebellion and anger, not submission and
obedience. Darkness rather than light, defeat rather than victory, is
the outcome of dabbling in the occult.
